Remnants of the New People’s Army have claimed the death of a senior citizen in Toboso on July 1 and the summary execution of an alleged military informant on June 24 in Himamaylan City, all in Negros Occidental.
The victim of a shooting incident at Crossing Bairan, Barangay General Luna in Toboso was identified by the police as alias “Enrique”, 64, a tricycle driver.
Initial police investigation indicated that three unidentified armed men barged into the residence of the victim and shot him several times. He died on the spot.
Investigators recovered from the scene of incident nine fired cartridges of 9mm pistol.
The Roselyn Jean Pelle Command earlier claimed responsibility for the death of Elias Palay, whom they tagged as a military informant, and Putot Alsado, whom they alleged was involved in illegal activities, on June 22 in Barangay Bug-ang, Toboso.| GB
