P1.6M in shabu, firearms seized

More than P1.6 million worth of suspected shabu and three firearms were confiscated by the police in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental and highly-urbanized Bacolod City over the weekend.

On Sunday, operatives of Police Station 8 arrested a drug suspect at Purok Sigay, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, yielding about 220 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.496 million.

On Saturday, a suspect was collared in Hacienda Mimi, Barangay 10, Victorias City, with an estimated 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000 and two homemade shotguns with four ammunition.

Two more drug suspects were nabbed in Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City also on Saturday.

Their apprehension yielded 13 sachets of suspected shabu, and a caliber .38 revolver with four live ammunition.

Five more drug suspects, among them a student, were separately arrested in the cities of Bago, Sagay, La Carlota and Talisay that led to the recovery of 17 sachets of suspected shabu, P4,200 in marked money and P238 in cash.

The identities of the arrested nine drug suspects were withheld by the police. All of them are locked up in police custodian facilities, pending the filing of charges against them in court. | GB
