He cited ongoing initiatives to improve power supply management, upgrade infrastructure, and strengthen distribution networks to ensure reliable service delivery.

The company is also investing in flexible grid systems, operational safeguards, and technology-driven improvements aimed at minimizing outages, particularly during extreme weather events and other emergencies.

Castro underscored the importance of workforce preparedness, noting that regular training, refresher courses, and emergency simulations help equip personnel to respond effectively during crises.

“Resilience is not only about restoring electricity after disasters but also about continuous planning, infrastructure investments, technological innovation, and workforce readiness,” he said.

The three-day summit gathered government officials, defense and cybersecurity experts, and critical infrastructure stakeholders to discuss emerging risks and strategies for strengthening national resilience.

Organized by risk management expert Augustus Caesar “Ace” Esmeralda in partnership with Ace and Associates Risk Management Inc. and Resilient.PH, the event promotes an integrated approach to physical security, disaster preparedness, business continuity, and cybersecurity.

Castro said building resilience requires anticipating risks, strengthening critical systems, and ensuring communities can continue functioning during times of crisis. ||
