Ballet Manila, one of the country’s premier dance companies, reprises its annual tour for a three-day staging of Snow White on November 27 to 29 at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, Silliman University, Dumaguete City.

The production, choreographed by renowned prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, opens the second half of the university’s 64th Cultural Season.

Snow White marks the much-awaited final installment of Macuja-Elizalde’s Princesses Trilogy to be presented on the Dumaguete stage, following the successful productions of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty at the Luce Auditorium.

Drawing inspiration from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale and the beloved Disney adaptation, Macuja-Elizalde’s choreography combines the darker elements of the original folklore with the charm and warmth of the animated classic.

Through Ballet Manila’s technical artistry, expressive choreography, and theatrical storytelling, the production brings to life the familiar tale of Snow White, complete with its enchanted forest, poisoned apple, and memorable characters.

The performances form part of the continuing efforts of the university’s Culture and Arts Council to bring world-class artistic productions to Dumaguete and provide audiences, particularly students and young people, with opportunities to experience professional ballet and other performing arts.
