The provincial government of Siquijor gave cash incentive to athletes, who earned medals during the inaugural Negros Island Regional Athletic Association Meet (NIRAAM) hosted by Bacolod City.
The Siquijor delegation bagged 18 medals, including three gold, seven silvers, and eight bronzes, and placed 10th out of the 12 participating schools’ divisions across the NIR, Governor Jake Vincent Villa said in a post.
The gold medalists are Cy Rhaquell Amar, pole vault secondary girls; Kattaleyah Feliz Malinao, blitz chess elementary girls; and Rhodney Baroro, 2000-meter racewalk. They received P10,000 each as cash incentive, and will represent the NIR in the Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur in May.

The silver medalists received P7,000 each, and P5,000 each for the bronze medalists, and Villa lauded the commendable performance of the Division of Siquijor in the first-ever NIRAAM 2026.
“Congratulations to our athletes! Each of you carried the true spirit of Siquijor. Adunay medal o wala, you have already made the province proud. Ang inyong pagkugi ug pagpaningkamot usa na ka dakong kadaugan,” he stressed. | CGC
