The Bago city government will use the P100 million assistance from Malacañang to fund development and rehabilitation projects, including the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged by Typhoon Tino, Mayor Marina Javellana-Yao said.

Javellana-Yao said the financial assistance has already been downloaded to the city and will help accelerate Bago’s recovery from the devastation caused by the typhoon.

Among the priority projects is the rehabilitation of three bridges at the Buenos Aires Mountain Resort that sustained damage during the disaster, she said.

The mayor described the assistance as a significant boost to the city’s ongoing recovery efforts and reconstruction program.

She also said this year’s Cinco de Noviembre commemoration carried added significance as Bago continues to rebuild from the effects of Typhoon Tino.

Javellana-Yao urged residents to remain united in the city’s recovery and development efforts.

“We have to stand united as one Bagonhon family to really see our economy thrive under our watch,” she said.

The mayor added that the assistance and ongoing rehabilitation initiatives will help the city move forward despite the challenges brought by the recent calamity. | GPB
