AAB-N officers take oath

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson administered the oath of office of the officers of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros (AAB-N) for 2026-2028 at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City Sept. 17.

AAB-N is led by Chrysee Samillano as president, with Patty Jane Ong as vice president/treasurer, Cora Soriano – secretary, Princy Martir – assistant secretary, and Bamboo Tonogbanua – auditor.

The members of the Board of Directors are Elizabeth Puey, Anette Feria, Corazon “Sony” Golez, Dorothy Gatuslao, Marlon Domino, and GilJon Quiamco.

Puey, Feria, Golez, and Gatuslao are past presidents of AAB-N, while Quiamco is the president/founder of the Group of Negrense Artists.

The AAB-N is one of the country’s longest-running art associations, having celebrated its 50th founding anniversary in July 2025, the Capitol said.

Meanwhile, the AAB-N officers also thanked the governor for endorsing the nomination of Nunelucio Alvarado as National Artist for Visual Arts, through Board Member Rita Gatuslao.

Alvarado, 76, a past president of AAB-N, was declared National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts, per Proclamation No. 1414 dated Sept. 1. ||
