A police lieutenant colonel, formerly assigned as police chief of Cadiz and Sagay in Negros Occidental, is among the 10 Filipinos named as the 2026 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos for their contributions to public service, community development and institutional strengthening.
PLt. Col. Robert Mansueto, deputy provincial director for administration of the Antique Police Provincial Office under Police Regional Office-6, was named one of three outstanding Filipino police officers.
Mansueto pioneered innovations such as the Traffic Information and Monitoring System and the Barangay e-Blotter System, and led programs that promote road safety and community collaboration.
He has helped advance smarter, more responsive public service, according to the Metrobank Foundation.
He joins PMaster Sgt. Dwight Alexis Supsupin of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region and PMaj. Baby Rose Cajulao of the Police Regional Office 2 in the police category.
The 2026 awardees include four teachers, three soldiers and three police officers selected under the theme “Beyond Excellence.”
Each awardee will receive P1 million, net of tax, and the Metrobank Foundation’s “Flame” trophy.
They will also receive the Medallion of Excellence to be conferred by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Malacañan Palace.
The 2026 awardees will be formally honored during the conferment ceremony on Sept. 4 at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
The awardees were selected from a nationwide pool of nominees through a multi-stage assessment that included document review, field validation, background investigations, and interviews.
The final selection was led by a Board of Judges chaired by Sen. Panfilo Lacson and co-chaired by Supreme Court Associate Justice Jhosep Lopez. | GPB
