Vendors operating around the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) will not be relocated until the end of November as the construction on their new relocation site continues.
City administrator, Atty. Mark Steven Mayo, said Oct. 8 that the private landowner behind the BCGC promised to open the newly-constructed food court by the first week of December.
“Their operations will be as is, they are now with the engagement of the Gugma Foundation for the duration of the MassKara Festival, and then we already finalized the timeline with the private owner of their permanent vending site,” Mayo said.
The city government plans to issue a final notice to the vendors during the last week of November to prepare them for the transfer.
Mayo said the ambulant vendors are aware of what will happen after the MassKara.
The facility can accommodate over 100 vendor slots, fulfilling the prohibition on vending at the BCGC grounds per the city’s deed of donation agreement with the Gonzaga family, which also owns the new site.
Under the agreement, relocated vendors will pay a rental fee, starting at P100 daily, for a six-square-meter stall. | TMD
