A 17-year-old student was taken into custody after school security caught him with eight grams of suspected marijuana during a gate inspection at a school in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, July 22.
Bacolod City Police Office director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, said that school security personnel intercepted the minor at the gate and discovered three plastic sachets containing suspected marijuana, worth P960.
Security staff also confiscated a black sling bag, a ceramic pipe, a pair of scissors, and a disposable lighter from the student before calling the police.
The seized items were submitted to forensic laboratory for testing.
The case will be processed in accordance with Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 9344, or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, as amended, the police said. | TMD
