Abang Lingkod party-list Rep. Manuel Frederick Ko has called for a swift, impartial, and thorough investigation into the killing of Jerome Seballos and Alex Cunanan, whose bodies were found separately in Barangay Gawahon, Victorias City on July 10.

In a statement on Monday, July 13, Ko expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the two victims and stressed that violence should never be the answer under any circumstance.

“Every human life is valuable, and every individual deserves dignity, fairness, and justice under the law,” Ko said.

The lawmaker urged the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Army, and other concerned authorities to conduct a comprehensive and impartial investigation to establish the truth behind the killings and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

The Roselyn Jean Pelle Command of the New People’s Army has claimed responsibility for the killings, alleging that Seballos and Cunanan were military informants.

The rebel group also claimed that Seballos worked for Ko.

The congressman reiterated his appeal for peace, calling on the public to reject violence and instead promote respect, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence within communities to help prevent similar incidents.

“May justice prevail and may the families of the victims find strength and comfort during this difficult time,” Ko said. | GPB
