One hundred and twenty students of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) in Dumaguete City, and 125 from the Central Philippines State University (CPSU) in Kabankalan, each received P13,500 under the cash-for-work (CFW) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Negros Island Region.
The DSWD-NIR said it concluded the implementation of the CFW program for 120 student and graduate beneficiaries from NORSU.
It added that 125 CPSU students completed the program.
Under the initiative, student-beneficiaries completed 50 days of work, while graduate beneficiaries rendered 25 days of employment. The program provided temporary work opportunities that enabled participants to earn additional income while developing practical work experience, discipline, responsibility, and valuable skills that will help prepare them for future employment.
The recent culmination and payout activity recognized the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the beneficiaries throughout their work engagement. The successful completion of the program highlighted the participants’ hard work and their contribution to the objectives of the CFW initiative.
DSWD-NIR director Arwin Razo encouraged the beneficiaries to value the fruits of their hard work and continue to be productive, innovative, and responsible individuals.
Through the program, the DSWD-NIR said it continues to invest in the development of students and graduates by providing meaningful employment opportunities that not only offer temporary financial assistance but also strengthen employability, work ethics, and civic responsibility. ||
