The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) said it impounded an unauthorized public transport van during an enforcement operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, at around 10:55 a.m. Sept. 1.
Members of the Regional Law Enforcement Service intercepted the vehicle while transporting eight passengers to Hinoba-an town.
The van’s driver reportedly charged individual fares between P350 and P450 without authority to operate as a public transport vehicle.
“Don’t risk your safety on an unauthorized ride,” the LTO-NIR told the riding public in a statement, adding it will continue its intensified crackdown on colorum operations to protect commuters and ensure that only duly authorized vehicles ply the roads of Negros Island. | TMD
