Policemen seized an estimated P715,000 worth of illegal cigarettes in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Monday (May 4).
Alias “Bazer”, 57, a resident of Santa Catalina, Zamboanga City was arrested during the operation in Sitio Utod.
Personnel of Kabankalan City Police Station caught the suspect in the act of unloading boxes of cigarette products without graphic health warning, from a red Isuzu Elf truck.
They seized 29 big and small boxes of Tourism cigarettes containing 1,030 reams as well as 12 big boxes of Bosqu cigarettes, containing 600 reams.
The arrested suspect and the confiscated illegal cigarettes are now in the custody of the Kabankalan City Police Station. | GB
