The Bacolod City government has engaged the services of 156 parttime faculty members of Bacolod City College, most of them rehires, as well as 49 medical personnel assigned at the City Health Office.
The contracts of services (COS) will be until December this year, per documents approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod from the Office of Mayor Greg Gasataya.
Each of these parttime college instructors/personnel has an hourly rate of P200, payable in a monthly basis, from Aug. 11 to Dec. 23. Upon expiration of this contract, their services automatically end without prior notice from the city, the COS said.
“It is understood that this contract does not create an employer-employee relationship between the parties…and that (these personnel) are not entitled to benefits enjoyed by the regular personnel, except as may be allowed by the city thru the College Board of Trustees,” the COS added.
For the hired medical personnel, 26 are assigned at the CHO, and 23 at the Lying-in Clinic and Birthing Home Center Division, with P9.1 million and P5.3 million in total salaries, respectively, also until end of this year.
Per the COS, 17 are medical officers, each with a monthly salary of P63,997 and hazard pay of P8,319; 23 nurses, to be paid a monthly salary of P36,619 and hazard pay of P9,154 each; and the remaining are medical technologists, midwives, and pharmacists.
These medical personnel are not be entitled to benefits enjoyed by regular government employees, such as ACA, PERA, RATA, midyear bonus, productivity incentive, Christmas bonus, cash gifts, and other benefits provided under pertinent laws, administrative and/or executive orders; and that no employer-employee relationship exists between them and the city, the COS states. | CGC
