The Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital (LZDH) in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental has secured a license to operate, with 15 authorized dialysis stations, paving the way for the hospital to provide dialysis services to patients from the fifth and sixth districts of the province.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said the hospital facility is ready while its doctors and nurses have completed the required training.
Diaz said the remaining requirements before services can begin are the calibration of the dialysis machines and completion of the hospital’s Philippine Health Insurance Corp. registration.
The development is expected to improve access to dialysis treatment for residents in southern Negros Occidental, who otherwise may have to travel to other areas for the specialized service.
LZDH is a 25-bed hospital managed by the Negros Occidental provincial government, with Level 1 service capacity.
Meanwhile, the upgrade of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City continues as well.
New medical equipment has been delivered to the TLJPH, including two automatic external defibrillators, three mobile operating room lights, six cardiac monitors and one central monitoring system.
The hospital upgrades are part of the provincial government’s continuing efforts to modernize public health facilities and improve access to quality medical care for Negrenses. | GPB
