The Negros Occidental provincial government has indicated its willingness to buy another property to be the new site of the Central Philippines State University-Moises Padilla satellite campus.

This comes after the province backed out from buying the two-hectare lot, where the current campus is located, owned by Francisco Nazareno Jr., son of former Mayor Francisco Nazareno, due to the seller’s failure to comply with legal and documentary requirements, legal deficiencies in the executed deed of sale, and adversarial and uncooperative conduct.

The provincial government earlier agreed to purchase the lot located in Barangay 7 for P25 million.

While they are open to buying another property, Lacson said the construction of school buildings might cause delays and affect the students.

He advised the CPSU management to deal with Nazareno and to get a guidance from the Commission on Higher Education.
