Water interruption to affect 44 areas in Bacolod

Around 44 barangays and subdivisions in Bacolod City, including relocation sites, will experience low pressure to no water, and possible water turbidity, for 12 hours on Sept. 12.

The Baciwa-PrimeWater Bacolod, in an advisory Sept. 8, said the scheduled water interruption will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

It said the power interruption set by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines in the service areas of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative that day will affect 17 water sources, including several wells in barangays Vista Alegre, Paglaum Village, Mansilingan and Handumanan.

Residents in several areas may experience water turbidity, low pressure, or no water at all, including Espinos Village, City Heights, Villa Otto, Kabugwason, East Homes 4-5, Paglaum Village, Guanzon, Hermelinda Homes, Green Acres, Villa Magdalena, Simon Peter, Goldenville, Carmenville, Mansilingan, Jayme Subdivision, Encarnacion, JJ Gonzaga;

UNO-R Ville, Acco Housing, Rosario Heights, Puentebella Subd., Bacolod Homes Royale. Mt. Carmel, St. Vincent, Purok Punay, Alijis Road, Providencia, Country Homes Alijis, Woodside, Victorina Heights, Libertad Area, Pedrosa, Olympia, Handumanan Relocation Site, Handumanan Phase 6B, Cabug, NHA, Pahanocoy, Tangub, Taculing, Florenceville, Gardenville, and Punta Taytay.

Meanwhile, Atty. Danny Pondevilla, acting general manager of Ceneco, said it will conduct maintenance activities on Sept. 10, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and areas to be affected will be the Pedrosa Village in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod.

There will also be power interruption on Sept. 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to affect Brgy. Bagtic in Silay City; and from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., also on Saturday, due to the shutdown of Alijis Feeder 3 for shifting/cut-off load of Murcia Feeders 1 and 2 to Alijis Feeder, repair of oil leakage from the offload tap changer of the 30MVA power transformer and repair hotspot at Murcia substation, and replacement of rotten poles.

On Sunday, a 12-hour outage will hit several areas in Bacolod and Bago City, as the NGCP plans to shut down its 100MVA Power Transformer No. 1 at the Bacolod substation.

Areas to be affected include six feeders under the Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV Transmission Line, and the Bacolod-Alijis 69kV Transmission Line, including AF1, AF2, AF3, AF4, AF5, AF6, AF7, MUF1, and MUF2. – CGC
