The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod has commended Louise Angelika Pahilanga of Barangay Estefania Sept. 9, for placing second in the 2026 Librarian Licensure Examination, with a 92.40 percent rating.
Pahilanga’s remarkable achievement also contributed to the exceptional performance of West Visayas State University (WVSU) in Iloilo, which achieved a 100 percent passing rate in the examination, and was recognized as Rank 1 among the top performing schools, per results released by the Professional Regulation Commission Sept. 7.
Her success is made even more inspiring by her perseverance and determination as a working student, demonstrating that hard work, resilience, and dedication can overcome challenges and can lead to excellence, the SP said in approving the resolution of commendation authored by Councilor Celia Matea Flor.
“Pahilanga’s achievements serve as an inspiration to the youth of Bacolod, particularly to students who continue to pursue their education while overcoming personal and financial challenges,” the resolution stressed.
It added that she completed her elementary and secondary education in Bacolod City, and enrolled in the WVSU College of Information and Communications Technology. She is the college’s first Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) valedictorian.
Education remains as one of the most important foundations of individual development and nation-building, and the City of Bacolod takes pride in recognizing Bacolodnons, like Pahilanga, who bring honor and distinction to the City through their outstanding achievements, the SP said.
The SP congratulates Pahilanga for placing second in the librarian licensure examination, for graduating as the Class of 2026 valedictorian of the BLIS program, and for bringing pride and honor to the City of Bacolod through her outstanding academic and professional achievements, it added. | CGC
