The Sangguniang Panlungsod congratulated Bacolodnon Ralph Jason Tulmo April 3 for placing third in the March 2024 medical technologist licensure examination, with a rating of 92.70 percent.
“The SP joins the whole city in congratulating Tulmo, of Barangay Villamonte, who has made Bacolodnons proud of his outstanding performance in the MedTech licensure examination,” states the resolution authored by Councilor Em Ang and approved during the regular session of the sanggunian yesterday afternoon.
Tulmo has brought honor and prestige to Bacolod, placing third among 7,309 passers out of the 9,068 examinees, the SP stressed.
He is the son of 1985 medical technologist topnotcher, Dr. Wilson Tulmo, and Janet Lydia; and a graduate of Riverside College Bacolod.
“He has undoubtedly made a mark through his exemplary scholastic record and outstanding achievement, drive, determination, and leadership. These attributes are worthy of emulation and serve as an inspiration for young people to aspire for excellence in their chosen field of endeavor,” Ang said, noting that Tulmo graduated with Rank 2 in the STEM strand with Principal’s Distinction and with highest honors in Secondary Education from Liceo De La Salle Bacolod; and summa cum laude and batch valedictorian in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Riverside College.
The Professional Regulation Commission, meanwhile, said that those who failed to pass the board examination for medical technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70 percent can register as medical laboratory technician.
Registration for the issuance of the professional identification card and certificate of registration will be done online starting on April 25, the PRC said, adding that the date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will be announced later. | CGC
