Your one peso in 2018 is worth 77 centavos in Bacolod City, P0.74 in Negros Occidental, and P0.78 for the rest of Western Visayas, as of May this year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said.
The latest purchasing power of peso report released by the PSA is part of the consumer price index and inflation rate for all income households for May, which showed that inflation in Bacolod was at 4.5 percent, from 3.9 percent in April; 4.2 percent from 4.4 percent in April in Negros Occidental; and at 4.3 percent, from 4.1 percent the month prior in Western Visayas.
The PSA, meanwhile, said it has launched the digital national ID, national ID eVerify, and national ID check June 10, along with the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
The Digital National ID shall serve as the country’s major leap towards digitalization as it offers an easier and more secure identity authentication for every Filipino with just one tap, through the National ID eVerify and National ID Check, it said.
Chief statistical specialist John Campomanes of PSA-Negros Occidental is urging concerned agencies and parties within the province to accept the Digital National ID once registered to the National ID eVerify through the https://everify.gov.ph website.
An information drive dedicated to discuss the registration to the National ID eVerify and its benefits is currently being drafted by the Provincial Statistical Office of Negros Occidental in order to educate agencies on this latest service offering of the PSA.
Campomanes said in a statement that the Digital National ID is another format of the National ID, which the public may now access via https://national-id.gov.ph.
Aside from the Digital National ID, registered individuals will still receive their physical National ID, he added. | CGC
