OVP Panay-Negros holds thanksgiving

As part of the 89th founding anniversary of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), its Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office held a thanksgiving activity in Aklan Nov. 17.

Residents of the municipalities of Makato and Boracay Island received gift packs from the OVP, with up to 4,400 beneficiaries from the drivers association, e-Trike drivers, boat drivers association, photographers association, vendors, solo parents, and members from the Boracay Ati Tribal Organization.

Each gift pack contains rice, noodles, canned goods, and coffee, the OVP satellite office said in a press release.

The Tamu-an Womens Organization and Dabong Farmers Association also received P150,000 in livelihood assistance from the OVP’s Mag negosyo Ta’ Day (MTD) program.

The OVP also distributed 27 wheelchairs for stroke and cerebral palsy patients, and received by their families.

The event was assisted by personnel from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Philippine National Police, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and Malay and Makato municipal and barangay officials. ||
