The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative said it signed Aug. 22 a power supply agreement (PSA) with FDC Misamis Development Corporation for a 20-megawatt baseload power requirement aimed at supplying its 45 percent uncontracted power needs.
The PSA signing, held in Bacolod City, was led by Noneco general manager, Engr. Wilbe Bilbao, with Board president Felix Gustilo, and FDC Misamis Development Corp. (FDC MDC) president Juan Eugenio Roxas, and witnessed by officials from both companies.
“This partnership marks a significant step for Noneco as it continues to seek reliable power sources to meet the growing demand within its franchise area,” the electric cooperative said in a statement, adding the PSA with FDC MDC “ensures that Noneco will have the necessary baseload capacity to address its power requirements, thereby mitigating risks of power shortages and enhancing service reliability for its consumers.”
The collaboration between Noneco and FDC Misamis Development Corporation underscores the former’s proactive approach in securing sufficient energy resources, and its commitment to providing uninterrupted power to its member-consumer-owners (MCOs).
Noneco, which serves the cities of Victorias, Cadiz, Sagay, San Carlos, and Escalante, and the towns of Manapla, E.B. Magalona, Toboso, and Calatrava, added that the agreement is expected to bolster overall power stability in Northern Negros, aligning with its mission of delivering quality and reliable electric service. ||
