The Bacolod Public Cemetery at Burgos Street is now considered a new hotspot for illegal drugs transaction, the police said.

This was after a street level individual was arrested Sunday, Oct. 17, in a buy-bust operation conducted by members of Police Station 4.

The police said Jonel Lipinid, 33, of Purok Katilingban, Barangay 39, Bacolod City, was nabbed with three sachets of suspected shabu, weighing about eight grams and worth P48,000.

Police Station 4 chief, P/Maj. Jun Ray Batadlan, said they received information that some drug personalities became regular cemetery visitors.

The station is located beside the cemetery and the drug pushers may have thought that the police will not become suspicious of any illegal activity there, Batadlan said.
