The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) was conferred the compliant status under the Performance Governance System (PGS) and received the Gold Eagle Award during the ceremony held at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Aug. 24.
The recognition is a continuing effort of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to institutionalize good governance, strategic management, accountability, and performance-driven leadership in its operations and organizational systems.
PRO-NIR Director PBrig. Gen. Romano Cardiño and members of the PRO-NIR Advisory Group received the award from PNP deputy chief for administration PLt. Gen. Bernard Banac, who represented PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
In a statement, Cardiño said the 96.03 percent rating reflects the collective efforts of PRO-NIR personnel in translating strategic objectives into measurable results, strengthening governance mechanisms, and developing systems designed to promote efficiency, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in police service delivery.
He described the recognition as a shared accomplishment of the entire PRO-NIR organization, emphasizing that it also carries the responsibility to sustain and further improve its governance initiatives.
Cardiño said the conferment of compliant status should serve as a renewed motivation for PRO-NIR to pursue higher standards of organizational performance while keeping its efforts focused on the communities it serves. ||
