The provincial government of Negros Occidental honored the Capitol’s women leaders as part of the Women’s Month culmination activity held at the Provincial Capitol lobby in Bacolod City on Tuesday, March 31.
Recognized were the female board members, Capitol department and office heads, and chiefs of hospitals.
The event recognized their invaluable contributions to public service, highlighting their leadership and dedication in advancing gender equality and inclusive development in the province.
It also served as a meaningful celebration of their accomplishments and the provincial government’s commitment to empowering women in governance.
In his speech, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said that 57.8 percent of the provincial government workforce are women, which reflects the high level of trust, competence, and leadership that women bring to public service.
Lacson also commended the Provincial Council for Women, and the Gender and Development Focal Point System led by action officer Marie June Castro for their continued efforts in advancing the welfare of women and for spearheading the successful celebration of Women’s Month in Negros Occidental.
Board Members Hope Marey Depasucat of the Third District and Araceli Somosa of the First District were among the featured awardees honored at the event. ||
