The Commission on Elections in Bacolod City has once again partnered with SM City Bacolod to bring voter registration services closer to the public, in preparation for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

The satellite voter registration is ongoing at the North Block of SM Bacolod until March 20. The initiative aims to provide a more convenient and accessible venue for residents to register, update, or verify their voter records in a safe and comfortable environment.

The Comelec encourages all qualified residents to take part, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that voter information is accurate and included in the official registry.

The Comelec’s satellite registration activity at SM Bacolod until March 20 offers accessibility, convenience, and comfort to applicants while going through the process.

Services available include new registration, transfer of registration, reactivation of records, and correction of entries.

Eligible applicants include first-time voters 15 to 17 years old for Sangguniang Kabataan, and those aged 18 and above for regular registration. Individuals who did not vote in the last two elections may also apply for reactivation.

City elections officer, Atty. Kathrina Trinio-Caña, stressed the importance of participation, particularly among the youth. “The Commission emphasizes the critical role of young voters in shaping the future of their communities through active engagement in the democratic process.”

Applicants are advised to bring a valid government-issued ID, such as a PhilSys ID, passport, driver’s license, or a student ID, and to proceed early to the registration site to avoid long queues.

During this satellite registration and Register Anywhere Program (RAP) at the North Block, the list-up at the Comelec BAYS Center will be temporarily suspended, the Commission said in a post. “We encourage all qualified Bacolodnons and RAP applicants to take this opportunity to register, update, or transfer their voter records conveniently.”

The ongoing registration drive underscores the shared commitment of Comelec and SM Supermalls to promote inclusive, accessible, and participatory elections. ||
