The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Victorias City facilitated the National Skills Registry Program (NSRP) registration for business establishments at the ongoing Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) operation at the Business Permits and Licensing Office.
This initiative, aligned with the DOLE’s employment facilitation strategies, seeks to streamline business compliance while building a robust national skills database.
The NSRP is a vital tool in creating a comprehensive database to match job seekers with employers, address skills gaps, and support targeted training programs, the city said Jan. 6, adding that by participating in this initiative, businesses contribute to an efficient employment ecosystem and improve workforce development.
The activity, anchored on City Ordinance 2024-161, requires businesses to register with the NSRP and update employment data, including job vacancies, to strengthen government-business-worker partnerships.
PESO Victorias City staff assisted business owners with registration and compliance, connecting local businesses with qualified jobseekers and identifying essential skills for growth.
Through initiatives like the NSRP registration, PESO Victorias reaffirms its commitment to fostering a competitive labor market, enhancing employment opportunities, and driving economic progress in the region, the city stressed.
Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, meanwhile, emphasized the importance of resilience, dedication, and shared responsibility in delivering quality public service, during the regular flag-raising ceremony at the City Public Plaza Jan. 6.
“We will deliver on every promise made, and leave no task unfinished,” Benitez said in his message as he called on employees to embody excellence and a commitment to better public service this 2025.
The ceremony also served as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of Victoriasanons and local offices.
Several Victoriasanons were honored for passing the Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination, including Barangay XV-A’s SK chairperson Steffi Andrea Panaligan, and Barangay VIII residents Ma. Ziellah Eran Arinal, Emma Rose Dalmacio, Rainna Lynne Delicana, Diana Rose Ocer, Raphael Emmanuel Escoro, and Julia Grace Antonio.
Kenneth Joy Magaman from Colegio De Sta. Ana De Victorias (CSAV) was recognized for passing the 2024 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination. The city also commended CSAV for achieving a 100 percent passing rate in the exam.
To further support the youth, Victorias City through the office of Councilor Trisha Mae Majan, turned over 26 brand-new printing sets to the SK Federation of Victorias.
These will be used in the Free Educational Printing Services Project, which offers free printing services in all 26 barangays for students and young professionals, to help lessen financial burden by providing equitable access to quality education, which will aid in their academic and career endeavors.
The ceremony also recognized achievements in digital content, with Franz Jan Varcas receiving recognition for his YouTube post, “I Feel Good Prank Sound Effect”, which has garnered 17 million views over the past four years, the city said.
The City of Victorias itself was awarded for earning the Fully Compliant Award of the Gawad Kalasag Seal and Special Awards for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance under the Local DRRM Councils and Offices category.
The city was also awarded Excellence in Vaccination during the National Immunization Program Stakeholders Recognition ceremony.
In a testament to dedication and loyalty, General Services Officer, Engr. Eduardo De La Cruz, was honored for his 25 years of service to the city.
The flag-raising ceremony set the tone for the year, celebrating achievements and underscoring Victorias’ commitment to progress, resilience, and service excellence, the city said. ||
