A total of 675 Bayanihan SIM cards were distributed to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the City of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental, and the municipality of Isabela in Negros Occidental recently.
This effort highlights the government’s continued commitment to bridging the digital divide, providing essential communication resources to underserved communities, and empowering beneficiaries with better access to information, services, and opportunities.
The initiative was carried out through the strong partnership between the 4Ps program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The DICT Negros Island Region said the program continues to expand digital access in remote communities. “Through this program, residents in far-flung communities are given the opportunity to access essential online services, support their education, communicate with loved ones, and participate in digital economic activities.”
The Bayanihan SIM Project also empowers local communities by enhancing access to government services, online learning platforms, livelihood opportunities, and ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in the digital age, it added. ||
