The Regional Special Enforcement Team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Western Visayas (PDEA-6) arrested the region’s top drug personality, who yielded P1.87 million in shabu during the operation in Barangay 14, Bacolod City on Monday, Oct. 14.
Through a search warrant, the PDEA agents entered the residence of alias “Jake”, 34, where they recovered 275 grams of shabu with a street value of P1.87 million.
His wife alias “Rona”, 34, was also arrested.
PDEA-6’s Agent Bamboo, who led the operation, said in an interview they learned during the operation that the top drug personality’s wife is also involved in the illegal drug trade.
The first recovery included 25 sachets of shabu weighing about 250 grams worth P1.7 million while a knot-tied plastic sachet containing 25 grams valued at P170,000 was found in a separate search.
“This MassKara Festival season, there is high demand for illegal drugs,” the PDEA-6 agent said.
According to Agent Bamboo, the suspect has been included in the PDEA-6 regional drugs watchlist in the past six years.
“Based on the information we gathered, he is a major supplier of illegal drugs based in the barangay,” he added. ||
