Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez confirmed yesterday that he has already chosen the successor of PCol. Noel Aliño as the director of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

“The Philippine National Police and I have agreed to one name, which is my personal preference,” he said.

The choice is one of the three names submitted to the mayor by the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (Region 6).

Benitez said that one of the qualifications he is looking for is good track record in previous assignments.

“I’m now waiting for an official order from PRO-6,” he added.

PCol. Joel Apelo Ana, who was transferred to PRO-6, has been replaced by Aliño as the regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in National Capital Region on July 22. | GB
