The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has ensured a safe and peaceful commemoration of Undas 2026, registering zero major incidents across the region from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.
PRO-NIR Director Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales attributed the incident-free observance to proactive security measures, high operational readiness, sustained police visibility, and seamless coordination among law enforcement personnel, partner agencies, force multipliers, and local government units.
Police records showed a total of 377,587 individuals visited cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria throughout the five-day period.
The security deployment handled the crowds efficiently, with Nov. 2 recording the highest visitor turnout, drawing 182,592 people to final resting places to pay their respects to departed loved ones.
A deployment of 3,119 personnel, comprising members of the Philippine National Police, partner government agencies, and force multipliers, were stationed at strategic locations and high-density convergence areas.
Reales personally inspected deployed personnel and reviewed security arrangements across various cemeteries. His oversight included continuous “red-teaming” activities designed to rigorously assess police readiness, quickly identify potential security gaps, and immediately address any operational concerns on the ground. | GPB
