Another oil price hike this week

The third straight week of increase in the prices of petroleum products is expected tomorrow, Jan. 23.

Oil companies announced over the weekend that diesel could increase by P0.70 to P0.90 per liter, gasoline by P0.90 to P1.10/liter, and kerosene by P0.10 to P0.30/L.

On Jan. 16, diesel and kerosene both increased by P0.90 per liter, while the price of gasoline went up by P0.30/L.

“The week-on-week price of Dubai crude has increased by around $0.35/bbl. MOPS diesel and kerosene also increased by about $1.20, and $1.40 per barrel, respectively,” the Department of Energy Oil Monitor showed.

The DOE added that adjustments for gasoline and diesel since the start of this year stood at a net increase of P0.30/liter and P0.65/liter, respectively. Kerosene, on the other hand, has a net decrease of P0.40/liter.

There was a net increase of P12.60/L for gasoline, P5.65/L for diesel, and P1.24/L for kerosene in 2023. | CGC
