BCPO, NOCPPO receive awards

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) received numerous awards during the 121st Police Service Anniversary, held yesterday at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

The BCPO, under the leadership of P/Col. Joseph Thomas Martir, was adjudged Best City Police Office in Western Visayas, while the NOCPPO, headed by P/Col. Leo Pamittan, bagged the Best Provincial Police Office in Region 6 award.

The BCPO was also recognized by the Police Regional Office 6 as Best Unit in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Both the NOCPPO and BCPO were finalists in the search for best PPO and CPO nationwide, police records showed.

Other BCPO awardees in the regional level were Police Station 2 for Best Numbered City Police Station Level and Best Unit in the Campaign against Illegal Drugs, and Police Station 4 – Best Unit on Tokhang Kontra Armas (TKAL) in the Numbered City Police Station level.

Aside from being adjudged as best PPO all over Region 6, the NOCPPO units also received other special awards, including the EB Magalona Police Station as Best Unit in the Implementation of “Birada Semana (Simultaneous Anti Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation)” in the Municipal Police Station level, the Bago City Police Station – Best Unit in the Implementation of “Birada Semana” Component City Station level;

Binalbagan Police Station – Best Unit in the Campaign against Illegal Drugs Municipal Police Station level, San Carlos City Police Station – Best Unit in the Campaign against Illegal Drugs Component City Police Station level;

Hinigaran Police Station – Best Unit on Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang Municipal Police Station level, Kabankalan City Police Station – Best Unit on Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang Component City Police Station level;

The 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company as Best Unit in the Implementation of Oplan “Project Maanyag” in the Mobile Force Company level, and Valladolid Police Station – Best Women and Children Protection Desk Municipal Police Station level.

P/Maj. Gen. Benjamin Santos, acting deputy PNP chief for Operations, led the distribution and conferment of awards to outstanding police units in Western Visayas./GB
