Tricycle driver mauled in Manapla

A 28-year-old tricycle driver remains in critical condition, as of press time, after he was mauled at a housing subdivision in Barangay I-A, Manapla, Negros Occidental, Sept. 8.

Police said that “Alejandro”, a resident of Barangay V, Victorias City, sustained head injuries and multiple wounds during the incident.

He was transported to the Abelardo and Remedios Bantug Memorial Hospital in Victorias City for medical treatment.

The Manapla Municipal Police Station said that, according to the victim, he was attacked in a vacant unit at Villa Jose Housing, Barangay I-A, by two residents of the subdivision, using a hammer and a piece of wood.

Responding police recovered a 2×3 wooden plank, measuring approximately 3 feet and 9 inches long, and stained with blood.

Authorities are conducting follow-up investigations to trace the whereabouts of the already identified suspects and determine the reason for the attack. | TMD
