The Victorias City government distributed the fourth-quarter social pension to 1,314 indigent senior citizens during a payout at the City Coliseum early this week.
This initiative was designed to provide a swift and systematic distribution, ensuring that senior citizens receive their stipends, with consideration to their health and physical needs.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office, in collaboration with the City Treasurer’s Office, managed the event.
Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, who was present at the payout, stressed his support for the city’s efforts in uplifting the well-being of senior citizens of Victorias.
The distribution of the stipends emphasized the city government’s commitment to supporting its elderly, and to reinforce the importance of social assistance programs in promoting the welfare of Victorias’ vulnerable residents, the city said.
The payout event was attended by City Social Welfare and Development officer Joy Reunir, OSCA head Erlinda Sarito, FSCAP Federation president Gilda Alojamiento, barangay FSCAP presidents, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Western Visayas, social welfare assistant Lovely Tolentino, Older Persons focal person Jasteen Cauntod, and personnel from the City Treasurer’s Office, among others. ||
