A proposed ordinance amending several positions in the plantilla of the Bacolod City government employees as to the titles and salary grades was passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod on third and final reading April 12.

These include positions in the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Division under the City Mayor’s Office, General Services Office, Management Information Technology and Computer Services, City Health Office;

City Social Services and Development Office, Department of Public Services-Solid Waste, City Engineer’s Office-Electrical Division and of Special Services, and under the City Tourism Development Office.

Councilors Simplicia Distrito, Jude Thaddeus Sayson, and Al Victor Espino, who authored the ordinance finally passed by the SP during its regular session Wednesday, clarified that “the changes to be made in the Plantilla of Personnel will not, in any way, result in the abolition, diminution, increase, or merging of titles and/or salary grades of any employee, given that some positions are still classified as new or vacant”.

“The errors of the position titles and/or salary grades were all typographical mistakes and were inadvertently indicated during its (plantilla) preparation,” the councilors explained, adding that the Human Resource Management Services requested such revision, and endorsed to the SP by the CMO.

The request is for the sanggunian to pass a resolution to correct the typo errors, but the SP deemed it proper to pass an ordinance since the concerned positions in the plantilla were also all adopted and passed through an ordinance, the proponents said./CGC
