SM extends aid to fire-hit city residents

SM Foundation, through SM City Bacolod, extended assistance to families affected by a recent residential fire in Barangay 10, through its Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) program.

The relief activity was conducted following the fire incident Jan. 24, which affected 55 families in Purok Tambipalad of the barangay.

In coordination with barangay officials, led by Punong Barangay Melvin Bravo, SM City Bacolod facilitated the orderly distribution of relief goods to help address the families’ urgent needs.

A total of 55 families identified as severely affected by the incident received assistance during the OPTE activity. On-site coordination was also carried out to ensure proper beneficiary identification and smooth delivery of aid.

Operation Tulong Express is SM Foundation’s emergency response program implemented in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Markets, designed to provide immediate relief to communities affected by disasters and crises across the country, its press release said Feb. 2.

Through initiatives like OPTE, SM Foundation continues to support local government units and communities by delivering timely assistance during emergencies, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and disaster response. ||
