San Carlos football team wins in Spain

The Philippine 12-Under team represented by San Carlos City football team of Negros Occidental bagged the championship in the 3rd Real Madrid Foundation World Challenge (Silver Group) in Madrid, Spain on March 28.

The young Negrense booters, who are scholars of the Escuela Socio Deportiva Sining at Pag-asa (SIPA) Program, scored three against one of Team USA Blue to win the title.

In a statement, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson congratulated the Team Filipinas- San Carlos.

“Your faith, determination and discipline prove that the sky is the limit for what you can achieve, and that your possibilities are endless,” he added.

The team was led by SIPA Program head coach Jose Dennis Peñalosa, Fundacion Santiago Executive Director Chaco Molina and Mayor Renato Gustilo.

“May this inspire more San Carloseños to excel in their respective fields. Your city is proud of you. Cheers to more achievements in the international stage!” Gustilo said in a separate statement.
