As the opening of classes for school year 2024-2025 started this week, the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region 7, in coordination with the local government unit of Pamplona in Negros Oriental, distributed school supplies to learners at Fatima Elementary School.

Some 262 children from kindergarten to Grade 6, with 136 being beneficiaries of the DSWD Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), received the school supplies, the agency said in a press release.

The provision of school supplies aligns with the 4Ps Bata Balik Eskwela (BBE) advocacy campaign, which aims to remind all 4Ps children and their parents/guardians that, as stakeholders of the program, they are required to comply with one of the main conditions of the program, which is for kids to enroll back in school and regularly attend classes so that they can fully receive the benefits.

The 4Ps municipal links also visited classrooms to ensure that the beneficiaries received their school supplies, the DSWD added. ||
