Starting next month, the five-day work of employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental will resume, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz announced Wednesday, May 25.

By doing this, Diaz said the provincial government tries to normalize the work at the Capitol.

“We have so much to address and we need everybody five days a week,” he said.

The four-day work scheme at Capitol was implemented at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The five-day work resumption was also in compliance with the Commission on Audit Circular 2020-006 that requires local government units to conduct a one-time cleansing of their respective properties, plants and equipment owned by the government, within a period of three months.

“We cannot meet the deadline if we continue with the four-day work week,” Diaz said.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental has created five teams to conduct an inventory of all Capitol properties.

Diaz said they have assigned teams to conduct an inventory on specialized fields like transportation, information technology, communication equipment, and machineries such as generator sets, cooling systems, air-conditioning systems, and mechanical equipment.

He added that the aim is to put up a management information system on all movable and non-movable properties of the provincial government.

“It will serve as guide to all employees under direct order of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson that all equipment have records and monitoring as to their age,” Diaz said.

The inventory will cover all properties purchased and donated to the provincial government of Negros Occidental, he added./GB
