Fuel prices are expected to increase this week, following a month of rollbacks.

Oil companies said diesel could increase by P0.20 to P0.30 per liter, gasoline by P0.10 to P0.40/L, and kerosene by P0.30 to P0.50/L. The exact adjustments will be known today, Nov. 27.

On Nov. 21, oil companies implemented the fourth consecutive week of price rollbacks for diesel and kerosene, and the third for gasoline, at P0.65, P0.60, and P0.75 a liter, respectively.

These price adjustments resulted in a net increase of P5.70/liter for diesel, P12.30/L for gasoline, and P1.09/L for kerosene since the start of this year, the Department of Energy Oil Monitor showed.

Meanwhile, the DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau said it has received several scamming complaints about unscrupulous persons pretending to be DOE employees, and requesting payments for door-to-door delivery of License to Operate (LTO) documents and other services.

“For the information of the public, the DOE only sends said documents via the Philippine Postal Corporation, or through actual pickup by the business owner, or their authorized representative. No additional charges shall be applied for documents sent via the PhlPost,” it said in an advisory.

The DOE does not extend LTO validity to more than five years or offer services for this extension, it added.

“We advise the public, particularly the LPG industry participants, to immediately report the matter, or any similar unscrupulous acts, through (02) 88402130 or 88402184, or via the infocenter@doe.gov.ph email. All persons misrepresenting themselves to be authorized by or associated with the DOE or any of its officials shall be dealt with in accordance with the law,” the advisory stressed. | CGC
