On March 24, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director, led the ceremonial turnover of logistical equipment to the various provincial and city police offices in Region 6, including the NOCPPO and BCPO.

With the activation of the PRO-NIR on March 27, to be presided by Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, the NOCPPO, BCPO, Negros Oriental and Siquijor Police Provincial Offices will now be under its supervision.

NOCPPO was among the recipients of 294 units  5.56mm basic assault rifles, including 124 Dasan, 146 Galil, and 24 Emtan, as well as 216 rounds of .40mm ammunition,  21 night vision monoculars, 170 enhanced combat helmets, 45 handheld radios, 1,750 raincoats, and 1,016 life vests.

The BCPO also received five motorcycles.

On Tuesday, Wanky, assisted by PCol. Rainier de Chavez, police provincial director of Negros Occidental, led the inauguration of the new Isabela and La Castellana municipal police stations.

In a statement, Wanky said “this milestone is a result of the unwavering partnership between the PNP and local government units in keeping the community safe in Negros Occidental”.

“Indeed, great things are possible if we work together. Let us not forget that the primary reason we pursue the construction of standard police station building is to underscore the indispensable role of law enforcement and public safety services in the lives of the people,” he added. | GB
