Seven more Capitol employees in Negros Occidental were tested positive for use of illegal drugs, bringing the total number to 27, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said yesterday.

Of the seven, five are assigned at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City while the two others, at the Cadiz District Hospital.

Diaz, however, refused to discuss the details of their employment status – whether they are regular, casual, contract of service or job order employees.

“We will reveal it only after their confirmatory tests come out in January next year,” Diaz said.

Five of the seven Capitol employees added to the list are using shabu while two are marijuana users.

More than 2,300 of the 3,400 Capitol workforce already underwent drug testing.

Diaz said that the provincial government will purchase additional drug testing kits to cover the remaining employees assigned at the Capitol- managed district hospitals.

Meanwhile, 70 more employees of the San Carlos City government were also subjected to drug testing yesterday through the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council. | GB
