After all the intensity and tension in waiting for all the ballots to be counted, the United States of America has its new president. To some, this was not what they had expected. Mail-in ballots had a significant impact on the percentage of votes that gave Joseph Biden the win.

With the race being too tight, Donald Trump, a known businessman, did not waste time in filing charges against those States that appeared not in his favor. He is using all his power to remain in power.

Trump’s mind game ended his presidency – his persistence and huge ego gave him an edge over everything that he does as he manipulated the system while still occupying the Oval Office.

The Democrats, on the other hand, were like eagles in the sky, making sure they clearly see what’s going on while the ballots were counted and patiently waited. People supporting Trump, on the other hand rallied at voting centers protesting, and chanting “We want Trump”; others held “Stop The Steal” placards and condemned Biden and his allies for cheating.

A barrage of lawsuits from Trump’s side overwhelms the Supreme Court. He wanted to stop the counting of ballots in Pennsylvania. The lawsuits were dismissed one after the other since it did not show evidence of fraud and the court it made no sense at all.

The election showed that the legal system in the US is still supreme and impermeable. It maybe was like a circus, yet witnessed how everyone wants this country to  bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic, and fears of lockdowns, rising unemployment, bumped-up taxes, illegal immigration issues, healthcare coverage, racial disparity, and police violence. These are important concerns for the new President to tackle.

Healthcare is far more important than the economic recovery we strive to achieve. As a healthcare frontliner, I believe we can beat the odds. We need healthy people to sustain employment.

This is the time to think how best to help our society. We hope to see a divisive nation that will soon move towards unity, integrity, peace, and resiliency. I want to see our children live in a safer, happier environment, and a society free from inequity, disparity, and divisiveness.
