The Art Cove at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod has been transformed with the “Festive Faces” exhibit of Jojo Vito, that pays tribute to the ongoing MassKara Festival celebration in the City of Smiles.

“Festive Faces”, ongoing until Nov. 19, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the festive spirit and creativity of the world-renowned MassKara Festival.

“Each mask serves as a reflection not only of myself but also the diverse spectrum of humanity,” said Vito, whose dedication to the art and profound ties to the Negros community resonates in all 14 colorful and meticulously-crafted pieces in the collection.

One of the standout pieces in this exclusive collection is the “Haciendera Mask”, an embodiment of luxury and opulence during Negros’ golden era with its vibrant red and gold hues.

The “Esmeralda Mask”, in contrast, is inspired by the strength of Bacolodnons, and serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and equilibrium in the face of adversity.

This exhibit marks a remarkable transformation from Vito’s previous installation, “Gilded Expressions”, also mounted at the Art Cove early this year and themed around the allure of gold, silver, and glitter, which not only captured hearts but also etched its name as the best-selling installation in Art Cove’s history.

Due to its overwhelming popularity, the hotel decided to extend the exhibit and, in collaboration with the artist, reimagine it as “Festive Faces”. Vito, Bacolod City’s renowned mask maker, professor, entrepreneur, and blogger, has brought new life to the exhibit, captivating audiences with his fresh perspective.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held during the exhibit’s grand opening Oct. 1, was led by Vito, Bacolod Councilor Israel Salanga, and former MassKara Queens Agnes Marie Therese Chang and Jan Nicole Puentevella-Uy.

“Come and explore the transformation of Jojo Vito’s artistry and immerse in the vibrant spirit of the MassKara Festival at Art Cove,” Sherwin Lucas, general manager of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, invites art enthusiasts.

‘Festive Faces’ offers a unique opportunity to experience the enchantment of Bacolod through the lens of one of its most esteemed artists, he added.
