At the EOC meeting with barangay captains of San Carlos City

The Emergency Operations Center established by the San Carlos City government has called on 18 barangay captains to file blotter with the police against violators of health protocols.

The blotters maybe used to take legal action and eventually apprehend them if necessary, the EOC said.

EOC made the call in a Dec. 1 meeting with the barangay leaders.

The meeting was led by Councilor Wilmer Yap, a physician, who is the EOC commander , and Joe Recalex Alingasa, EOC manager and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer.

Dr. Yap asked the barangay captains the list of protocol violators in their respective areas so that proper action can be taken against them.

Alingasa asked the barangay captains to identify in their report the local measures they have undertaken to address the problem of rising COVID-19 cases in the city.  San Carlos has now a total of 412 confirmed positive cases 65 of which are active, recoveries total 320 while 27 have died.

Yap also asked the police to conduct another “one time, big time” operations for hard- headed residents, especially in densely-populated areas who refuse to observe health protocols.

At the same time, the EOC officials understand the role of police officers in helping the barangay leaders through their visibility in the community to check the violations.

EOC said the three barangays with the most number of Covid-19 cases are Barangay 2 with 71 positive cases, Barangay Rizal (67) and Barangay 1 (57).
