Dumaguete’s City Livelihood and Home Industries Development Office (CLHIDO) is accepting enrollees until Jan. 10, for 11 qualification courses free of charge, and open to all Dumaguete City residents.
The CLHIDO offers skills training particularly for out-of-school youth, unemployed adults, underemployed, women, persons with disability, and displaced individuals so they can acquire the needed skill set for employment and livelihood, the city said.
CLHIDO head Maria Melchie Dorado said the 11 qualification courses are automotive servicing, dressmaking, consumer electronics servicing, computer operation, shielded metal arc welding, beauty care/hairdressing, tailoring, pipefitting, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, and hilot wellness massage.

The classes-training would last for 65 days, with each student allowed to take two courses, provided that there is no schedule conflict. Starter kits will also be provided to deserving graduates.
There were 287 CLHIDO graduates in 2022, 352 graduates in 2023, and 377 graduates in 2024, the city said.
