A total of 1,632 police personnel will be deployed in strategic areas throughout the Negros Island Region to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of National Heroes Day.
The cops will provide security, assist the public, manage traffic, and respond promptly to any situation that may arise, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said Aug. 30.
The deployment will include police visibility, fixed and mobile patrol, traffic assistance, checkpoint operations, border control, civil disturbance management, reactionary standby support force, and other law enforcement functions, it added.
The police deployment will be further complemented by 14 personnel from other units and 311 force multipliers, who will help strengthen the security presence in key areas where increased movement and public gatherings are expected.
Personnel will be positioned along major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, public places, memorial sites, and other strategic locations to provide assistance and help maintain peace and order.
PRO-NIR director, P/Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, said the deployment underscores the PNP’s commitment to maintaining peace and order while ensuring that the public feels safe, secure, and supported as they commemorate National Heroes Day and honor the nation’s heroes.
“As we honor the sacrifices of our national heroes, we will continue to uphold the same spirit of courage, dedication, and service in protecting our people. PRO-NIR will be ready and visible to keep Negros Island safe and peaceful,” he added.
He urged everyone to commemorate responsibly, cooperate with police personnel, and work with PRO-NIR in preserving the peace in communities. “As the nation pays tribute to the men and women who dedicated their lives and service to the country, PRO-NIR remains steadfast in carrying forward their legacy through committed and people-centered policing.” ||
