The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region 6 said Thursday it will no longer entertain walk-in applicants, who want to avail of the educational assistance for individuals in crisis situation, with the second payout set on Aug. 27.

The DSWD Field Office 6 said it will prioritize in the assessment and payout this Saturday those whose contact information were taken by its personnel last Aug. 20 but were told to go home since they can no longer be accommodated that day.

“Please wait for a text message, email or notification from the DSWD that you are included in the assessment and payout on Aug. 27,” the DSWD told would-be beneficiaries in an advisory Thursday, and urged those who have not received any confirmation to refrain from going to the designated payout center since they will not be accommodated.

This is also to prevent overcrowding and long lines, like what had happened on Aug. 20.

The DSWD assured that assessment and payout will be held every Saturday, until Sept. 24, and advised applicants to preregister online, via https://bit.ly/dswdfo6EducAssistance, or scan the QR Code found in the official FB of DSWD 6 at facebook.com/dswd06 and fill out the form, or email the required documents at dswd.educassistance@gmail.com.

It said that if the claimant is a student, he or she should bring during the assessment and payout day the Certificate of Enrolment or Registration, like an original/certified true copy signed by the Registrar for those in college and the original/certified true copy of the certificate of enrolment or registration with the school logo and signed by the principal for the elementary and high schoolers; or a photocopy of the validated school ID with logo or sticker proving and the student is enrolled for school year 2022-2023; Statement of Account signed by a registrar or accounting staff; or any document issued by the school as proof of enrolment.

If the assistance claimant is the parent, he or she should also bring any of the documents mentioned above plus actual and photocopy of the claimant’s validated ID.

If the claimant is not the student-beneficiary or his or her parent, the former should also bring an authorization letter from the parents in addition to the required documents.

Wear a face mask, observe social distancing, and bring your own food, water, and ballpen during your scheduled assessment and payout date. Do not bring infants or members of the family who are sick, the DSWD urges claimants.

Those qualified to receive the assistance include breadwinners, even if they’re not the head of the family; working students; orphaned, abandoned or those living with their relatives; kids of solo or jobless parents, of rebel returnees, of persons deprived of liberty, or of distressed overseas Filipino workers; those living with parents with HIV; victims of abuse or displacement; or students in crisis due to human-induced or natural calamities, the DSWD added./CGC
